"Silence" by Ashley McNiel

Each summer, my family and I make our pilgrimage down to the Ocean City, New Jersey beach.  We rent a house ( a separate room for each of my two kids..so they will attempt to "play nice" for the week ...I am snorting with sarcastic laughter, can you hear me?), we stock the refrigerator (so that we don't have to ignore...err hear the constant "I'm hungry" every hour), and we let the kids plan the activities.  Sounds like heaven right!?  Heehee.  And it is...mostly, at least for the first couple of hours!  Then my husband and I realize that there is NO way that the kids should have the responsibility of choosing the activities because sitting in the house and watching the Cartoon Network can be done at home!! We certainly don't need a beach house to do that.  (My kids need more than a gentle push to get going.)  That being said, our beach week is one of my favorite weeks of the year.  I wake up in the morning and I run on the boardwalk.  I watch the early morning sun sparkling over the ocean.  I watch with awe as the surfers and swimmers take to the ocean with the same ease that I take to the boards....

So here I am in my little piece of heaven without one of the things that make me the happiest woman in the world...A GREAT BOOK.  How can that be?....

I was beginning to stress out a little bit.  I usually post at least once a week and this week....NOTHING.  And then I found "Silence" by Ashley McNiel.  Exhale...smile...bliss....
