It was a huge weekend at Or Hadash. It began with Tot Shabbat for our smallest friends and then swung into our annual Back-To-Shul BarbBQ. We hosted over 200 people who then stayed and enjoyed a family Shabbat experience with much singing and spirit. A festive oneg Shabbat followed as everyone enjoyed greeting friends old and new.
Our Selichot offering of the play “The Gates are Closing” by Merle Feld met with warm reviews. This contemplative play was a thought-provoking way to usher in the high holiday season. If you missed the performance, many of our Or Hadash actors will assemble again for the Purim shpiel in the spring.
Or Hadash opening day of Religious School was Sunday, September 9th. New and returning students and their families gathered to meet the new Education Director, Barbara Weisman, and to partake in opening day activities, quilt making and a welcome back brunch.
Educators sometimes witness students who don’t want to stay at school but we actually had some students that didn’t want to go home!
So clearly there was something for everyone this weekend at Or Hadash. It’s not too late to come and join the fun for your family. There are plenty of more holiday experiences coming up. Stay tuned for more experiences as the year unfolds.
