“One Last Thing Before I Go” by Jonathan Tropper

I have found that through the course of my life I have questioned the occurrence of a lot of complex and mysterious things…. such as, why do I always get my period two days after arriving on vacation?  I am bloated and zitty (is that a word?) with a migraine for the first two days and then bleeding, bloated, and zitty for the rest of the trip.  It NEVER fails!  Or…why does my car need gas only on the days when it’s pouring outside? Yesterday..it was freaking sunny and beautiful…my tank was humming a long..today a big fat “E” and it is torrential down pours (of course I took the extra time to straighten my hair today!)....

Of the many many books I have read, some of my favorites have been told through the eyes and voices of the male characters.  For some reason, the story always affects me more profoundly when it is coming from the male point of view (POV).  I’m thinking that is due to my lifetime mission of trying to solve the “Mystery of the Male Mind” (I just came up with that title…sounds like it could be a show on the Discovery channel doesn’t it?)   Writing from a male POV is tricky.  There is a fine line between telling a man’s story and…well.. acting like a complete…man!....

When is comes to literary fiction, the male POV has been written beautifully by both women and men.  I have read so many stories by just as many authors but in this category, in my opinion, no one does it better than Jonathan Tropper.  Jonathan Tropper is by far my favorite male author to date.  He has written six novels and I have read all six.  I have yet to be disappointed....
