There are a number of really great ways to get Mitt Romney to release the returns.  They range from the angry to the funny to the National Security angle.

The Voter Id Angle

The logic the GOP is using to force Voter Id upon the country goes something like this:

You need to have a Photo Id to:

• Get a job
• Get healthcare
• Get a cheeseburger at McDonalds

So why can’t we have a Voter Id to make people vote?

Let’s turn that around for Mitt Romney:

Yo Mitt,

• If we have to get groped while boarding a plane
• If we have to get drug-tested to get a job
• If we have to get Photo id's to vote

Then YOU have to produce 10 years of the damn returns.

The New Orleans Beads

Mardi Gras is a great time of year.  I understand if you go to New Orleans around Fat Tuesday people walk around giving out beads to people who reveal things in public.

Why not give beads to Mitt Romney for revealing his tax returns?

It can be a lot of fun going to a Mitt Romney rally with strings of cheap beads yelling stuff or carrying signs like:

• Hey Mitt, are those returns as big as you say they are?
• I have 1040 jealousy – How about a peek?
• Mitt, let’s see those big, firm tax forms.
• I’ll show you mine if you show us yours!

I can see the GOP handlers stopping everyone coming to a Mitt rally and checking for plastic beads.

(I am afraid that even if we see those returns we will walk away thinking they are fake - enhanced by plastic accounting.)

The National Security Angle

This is the one I am really surprised no one has gone after.

We essentially have the Manchurian Candidate here.  It wasn’t Lawrence Harvey being tortured into becoming a tool of the Chinese.  It is Mitt’s own avarice that leads him to willingly become a tool.

Stupid Question: Why is a background check performed on intelligence personnel?

Answer: So agents cannot become a target of blackmailed or extortion in the field.

Extortion and blackmail can compromise an agent.  If everything is out in the open the agent can tell someone attempting to blackmail them – “Go ahead, tell them something they already know”.

We are setting ourselves up here as a nation if we let Mitt Romney become President without this vetting.  It will be too easy for a company to make a visit to the Oval Office and say,

Yo Mitt,

Remember that night in Madrid with the sheep? 

Who’s gonna say BAAAA now?

You know that defense contract that was going to go to that American Company, send it over to China NOW.

I don’t think it will have to be that heavy handed, but you get the idea.

It is becoming too obvious that Mitt Romney will be the security breach at the top of the food chain. (It is also why I think that Harry Reid is getting his intelligence from John McCain on taxes.)

It is now a matter of National Security that Mitt Romney releases the tax returns.
