There was a long line of cars waiting to either go straight onto Susquehanna Road or make a right onto Limekiln Pike near Cumberland Farms Thursday afternoon.
Residents and visitors were greeted by an electronic sign, welcoming them ... and then telling them that traffic laws are "strictly enforced." There was also an electronic sign at the bottom of Limekiln Pike telling drivers that it might be a while before they get a green light
What intersections do you find to be slow, dangerous or just plain annoying in the township?

Who paid for those signs?
Another grant from the 16 trillion borrowed?

I don't know. I placed a call to the police department regarding the signs, but I haven't heard back yet. I'll look into the signs on the traffic lights as well – I know Abington is looking to roll out a red light camera program soon.

The cameras are used for the smart signal system, nothing else! Once it is setup the traffic will flow properly around the triangle.

I believe the Township got a grant form the Commonwealth for $250,000. The cameras are as "the thinker" says for bettering the flow of traffic by using cameras and computers to actually see the traffic in all directions and allow the lights to stay on a more appropriate time. I have been told by several Commissiners, there are NO plans to employ "red light" cameras, and these cannot be used for that purpose.
