UPDATE: Upper Dublin Teacher Bremble Arrested for Corruption of a Minor

Teacher Cheryl Bremble was arrested on multiple charges.

Cheryl Bremble, 40, an Upper Dublin High School teacher, was arrested Friday on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor and related offenses, according to a press release from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

The release, a joint announcement between DA Risa Vetri Ferman and Upper Dublin Township Police Chief Terrence Thompson, states that Bremble “began spending a lot of time with the juvenile victim outside of the school setting, including shopping trips where she (Bremble) purchased her several expensive clothing items. Bremble also had sexually explicit conversations with the juvenile victim in person and via text messages."

"Additionally, Bremble gave the juvenile victim a sex device on school property, during school hours. Bremble encouraged the juvenile to use the device on numerous occasions during text message conversations.”

The release also states that Bremble was arraigned before District Judge Patricia Zaffarano, and bail was set at $25,000. Assistant DA Samantha Cauffman will be prosecuting the case for the Commonwealth.

According to a Phillyburbs.com article, "The [female victim], in tears, on May 27 went to her father and told him that Bremble had been sending her sexual text messages, telling the girl that she was bisexual and that she thought the girl was 'hot.'"

The article also says that Bremble gave the girl a vibrator, during school hours, several months earlier, and told her through text message "don't ever say I won't try it, cause u will experience something wonderful..."

Upper Dublin School District Superintendent Michael Pladus told Upper Dublin Patch that the district suspended Bremble earlier this week, upon being notified about an investigation by Upper Dublin Police.

“The teacher has been suspended, pending the results of the investigation,” Pladus said.

Pladus also issued the following statement to Patch:

“Although the district is not able to comment on any specific aspects related to the ongoing investigation, I can tell you that we are most certainly cooperating fully with the authorities. Any allegation of improper communications or solicitations involving a member of our faculty or staff with a student will not be tolerated, under any circumstances.”

Pladus did not comment on Bremble’s employment or history, but Bremble is listed on LinkedIn, a professional networking website, as a “Learning Support Reading Teacher.” The page also states Bremble has been an employee of the district since 2000, and worked in the Centennial School District from September 1998 until June 2000.

A search for Bremble on the anonymous teacher rating website RateMyTeachers.com turns up two comments in the past six months. An anonymous user in March 2011 wrote “she’s average. Acts like a teenager,” while an anonymous comment from January 2011 states “she’s okay. She only talks about her kids and stuff but yells at us everyday. If nice can be kind of weird.”
