UDPD Reports: DUI and Attempted Burglary in the Office Park
Weekly Upper Dublin Police reports.
All information is according to official police reports filed at the Upper Dublin Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
DUI: At approximately 12:53 a.m. on February 15, an Upper Dublin Police officer was on patrol near the intersection of Commerce Drive and Pennsylvania Avenue when he observed a 2000 GM “Jimmy” wagon turn right onto Virginia Drive from Commerce Drive. According to a police report, the vehicle was swerving, breaking, and changing speeds erratically. The officer then pulled the vehicle over and spoke with its driver, Michael David Cromie, 42, of the 1200 block of Easton Road, Roslyn, whose speech was slurred and eyes bloodshot, the report says.
The officer then administered a PBT test to Cromie, which registered a .178% BAC, the report says. Cromie was placed under arrest and will be charged with DUI pending lab results.
Attempted Burglary: At approximately 7:59 a.m. on February 13, an Upper Dublin Police officer responded to a services business at 580 Virginia Drive, Fort Washington, for the report of an attempted burglary. There, staff showed the officer that someone had attempted to break a lock and open a sliding glass window on a reception desk sometime over the weekend. However, it appeared the subject was unable to gain access.
Found property: At approximately 9:18 a.m. on February 14, a manager of the Woods Apartment Office gave police a knife he had found in the building’s parking lot. The knife is described as a large, multi-bladed knife with a gold handle and a black sheath. It is currently being stored at Upper Dublin Police Headquarters.
