Silvio Reale, 83, of Ambler

Silvio Reale was born in Italy, a talented bowler, and avid Phillies fan.

Silvio Reale, 83, of Ambler, died on July 3, 2012 at Abington Memorial Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of nearly 57 years of Theresa M. (Talese) Reale.

He was born in Riccia, Province Campobasso, Italy on August 27, 1928.

He was the son of the late Salvatore and Concetta (Mignone) Reale.

While in Italy, he worked as a cabinetmaker; he later came to the US and worked at Goldsmith's Textile Mill tailoring men's clothing.

He went on to work at William H. Rorer Pharmaceuticals as a machine operator in the tablet compressing department for many years until his retirement.

Silvio was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church and the Sons of Italy LRB Lodge of Ambler.

He was a talented bowler and was active with various leagues in the 1960's and 70's.

He was an enthusiast of all sports, enjoyed playing bocce, and was an avid Phillies fan.

Silvio was also known for cultivating his beautiful vegetable garden.

He was a dapper dresser, and took pride in his appearance.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, and taught them, among many things, the importance of self respect.

In addition to his wife Theresa, he is survived by four children Sylvia Reale Ciliberto of Ambler, Salvatore Reale (Susan) of Spring Hill, FL,

Sandro Reale (Francesca) of Franconia, Sergio Reale (Dawn) of Worcester, 6 grandchildren Michael, Joe, Matthew, David, Theresa, Elaina, one great-granddaughter Raychel,

two sisters Carmella "Melina" Manocchio and Clara Sangiovanni both of Riccia, Italy, and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by two sisters Anita and Yolanda Reale.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 259 Forest Ave., Ambler, PA.

The Viewing will be Sunday from 6:30-9:00 PM and Monday from 8:30-9:30 AM at Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler.

Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
