Report: 1 Dead in Bethlehem Pike Crash
Motorcyclist killed in accident with vehicle identified as Upper Dublin trash truck
A motorcyclist was killed early Monday afternoon in a crash involving a truck owned by Upper Dublin Township, the Ambler Gazette reports.
The accident took place near the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Hagues Mill Road.
Bethlehem Pike was reportedly closed between Butlet Pike and Tennis Avenue.
The @MontcoAlerts feed on Twitter, which typically monitors emergency responder radio transmissions, identified the vehicle as a trash truck and said the deceased subject was "under" the truck.
An aerial photograph published by NBC Philadelphia showed what appeared to be a trash or a recycling truck partially pulled off the roadway, perhaps in the process of making a right turn, with a tarp concealing a section of the underlying roadway near the rear of the vehicle.
The Gazette reported that the county coroner and other officials were on their way to the scene as of 1:45 p.m. Monday.
