Development news of three new "Star Wars" films — all telling the continuing tale of what happened after "Jedi" — is moving faster than the Millennium Falcon at the Kessel Run.

It was announced last week that Walt Disney Co. purchased LucasFilm for $4 billion, and hence, rules the "Star Wars," well, empire.

Now, news comes out of Hollywood Tuesday morning that "X-Men: First Class" and "Kick-Ass" director Matthew Vaughn could helm the first new episode. He would then join the likes of science fiction mogul George Lucas, the late Irvin Kerschner, and Richard Marquand.

The deal could be the end of "Clone Wars" on the Cartoon Network, which is owned by Time Warner (which also owns DC Comics and, hence, the "Batman" franchise).

Just please — no more Jar Jar Binks.
