Ok, but what does that all mean? No one seems to be able to keep adequately clean surfaces on hand washing stations. Also, ventilation is a consistent problem.

I assume the business receives a more detailed write up of violations and what needs to be accomplished to bring them into compliance. Is that available somewhere for the public to view?

Reports like this are all well and good but they mean almost nothing to the vast majority of the public. How should any of this impact my behavior in regards to these establishments? From these reports I really can't tell.

Hi Mark,

Valid points, but a tricky situation. First, in almost all of these cases, the violation is fixed on the spot. If there are major concerns that can't be fixed, they get scheduled for a re-inspection a month later.

It's rather tough-- and likely biased-- for an editor to hand down judgments about whether or not readers should visit each location. The reports are rather straight forward and do have basic descriptions of the violation at the bottom. I think it's more for the reader to decide whether they can...stomach... the location's violations or not.
