Letter to the Editor: Take My Word on Sam Rohrer

Sam Rohrer is the only experienced Republican in the race for US Senate.

If you missed Sam Rohrer speak during this campaign season, I ask you to take my word that Sam is the best candidate for US Senate in the Republican Primary. Sam is the only experienced Republican in this race with a voting record in the state legislature to prove where he has stood for the people of Pennsylvania. He has a long history of integrity and principled leadership – as a matter of fact, Sam goes down an “integrity checklist” before casting a vote.

Sam’s commitment to the Constitution, fiscal responsibility, and individual freedom has often put him at odds with his own Party. Though his primary opponents may try to paint him as a career politician, career politicians are not continually a thorn-in-the-side of the Party leaders. As a matter of fact, the state Republican establishment would not endorse Sam because he would never play their mutual back-scratching games. Sam Rohrer will not be swayed by the army of lobbyists and arm-twisting of the Party establishment in Washington.

But Sam has been endorsed by fellow conservative mavericks: former presidential candidates Herman Cain and Michele Bachmann. He has also been endorsed by clergy groups and the Gun Owners of America. He has consistently won straw polls, usually by large margins, held by conservative grassroots groups across the state.

With his proven track-record of integrity and principles, I am sure Sam Rohrer will represent the citizens of Pennsylvania well. If you are a registered Republican, I encourage you to go to the polls on April 24 and vote for Sam.

Sincerely,

Shawn M. Esser

Me. Esser,
When you use a capital 'p' in 'party', are you referring to the tea party? They seem to rely in bullying and arm-twisting to force their ideology on everyone. When I think of Herman Cain and Michelle Bachmann many things come to mind; political mavericks is not one of them. Dimwits, rubes, narrow-minded zealots, yes. But mavericks - no. Michelle Bachmann barely has a grasp of elementary school history. And Herman Cain, well, I suppose if he built a pizza industry, that qualifies him to run the country. As for their endorsement of Mr. Roher, I'm not sure that helps his chances, or diminishes his chances.

Just my opinion.
