1. Social Media Program
Where/When:
Penn State Abington, 1600 Woodland Road, Jenkintown; March 11, noon to 2 p.m.
Why go:
Hosted by Eastern Montco Chamber of Commerce, learn about social media—like Facebook and Twitter—and how to incorporate it in your business. The program also includes networking and lunch.
Pricing:
$25 members, $35 nonmembers

2. Organ Concert
Where/When:
Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, 411 Susquehanna Road, Ambler; March 11, 7:30 p.m.
Why go:
Internationally acclaimed organist Hector Olivera will perform at a dedication organ concert.
Pricing:
Free, but an offering will be taken

3. Boating Safety Course
Where/When:
Upper Dublin Township Building, 801 Loch Alsh Ave., Fort Washington; March 12, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why go:
Earn your Boater Safety Certification, from a Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission instructor. Learn to load your boat, get passengers on and off, use safety equipment and the “rules of the water.”

4. Boy Scouts Book Sale
Where/When:
Supplee Presbyterian Church, 855 E. Welsh Road, Maple Glen; March 12, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why go:
Boy Scout Troop 542 will host a book sale to raise funds for new camping and cooking equipment. Check out a large selection of books, ranging in price from 50 cents to $10.

Free admission

5. Red Cross Blood Drive
Where/When:
Christ’s Lutheran Church, 700 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Fort Washington; March 15, 1:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Why go:
The Red Cross is looking for a few good blood cells! Thanks to the rough winter we’ve just had, blood supplies are at a critical level. Make an appointment to donate; it only takes about an hour.
