The new Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in East Norriton is slated to open its doors on Sept. 29, but local media got the chance to tour the full-service, acute-care hospital on Thursday.

Patch tagged along with four aspiring journalists from Ms. Sortino's 4th Grade class at Gotwals Elementary as they interviewed executives and were treated to hands-on demonstrations of the amenities in patient rooms, the state of the art maternity ward and NICU. The kids even got to try out the cutting-edge DaVinci Surgical Sytem. The 4th Graders were working on an assignment for their Healthy News student publication.

Einstein is hosting a Community Day on Sept. 22, from 1 to 5 p.m. to give the rest of the community a peak at what's in store for them when they need hospital care. The day will feature tours of the facility, free health screenings and info and family activities and refreshments.

Did the students have to show photo ID to get in?
