Bomb Threat Called in on Monday Night for Ambler Train Station

A bomb threat was called into Ambler Borough Police on Monday night, which turned out to be negative.

Ambler Borough Police received three hang up calls on Monday evening around 9:21 p.m., stating there were three bombs at the Amber Train Station.

Ambler Police Chief William Foley told Patch that traffic along Butler was stopped and all SEPTA trains coming into and out of Ambler were shut down, and pedestrians waiting on the platforms were evacuated.

The Montgomery County Bomb Squad was notified and K9 united from Whitemarsh, Cheltenham and SEPTA responded to the scene.

The Bomb Squad checked the platforms, tracks and the immediate area with negative results.

At 11:19 p.m., the train station was put back in service.

Foley told Patch he appreciated the assistance of county departments that came out and truly showed the teamwork by the county departments.
