Alleged UD "Sexting" Teacher Bremble Waives Preliminary Hearing

The next court date is scheduled for Sept. 7.

Marc Neff, the attorney for accused Upper Dublin High School "sexting" teacher Cheryl Bremble, waived preliminary hearings on all charges against his client this morning.

Bremble, who is free on $25,000 bail, was dressed in a light-colored blouse and business skirt and did not speak during the brief court appearance.

Bremble is next scheduled to appear for her formal arraignment at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown Sept. 7.

Bremble's preliminary court date was originally scheduled for June 21, but was delayed until today.

When asked if any discussions had taken place between the prosecution and defense regarding a plea agreement, prosecuting assistant district attorney Samantha Cauffman offered no comment.

"The commonwealth will proceed to follow the charges through to the end," Cauffman said.

Bremble was arrested on June 10, after it was discovered that she had sexually explicit conversations with a juvenile student at Upper Dublin High School, both in person and via text message, according to release by the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.

According to the release, Bremble gave the female student a sex device on school property, and later encouraged her to use it during text message conversations, when she stated "don't ever say I won't try it, cause u will experience something wonderful … "

According to a Phillyburbs.com article, investigations began after the female victim, in tears, "went to her father on May 27 and told him that Bremble had been sending her sexual text messages, telling the girl that she was bisexual, and that she thought the girl was 'hot.'"

The investigation and arrest were jointly announced by DA Risa Vetri Ferman and Upper Dublin Police Chief Terrence Thompson.
